365 Days of Creativity
Hi all!
So happy to have you along for the journey!
I’ve been an artist most of my life, took many art classes in high school and college, and doodle in much of my free time. For all the exploration and practice I’ve had with art, I’ve never been able to consistently make art. I’ll have months where I’m filling sketchbooks and months where I make absolutely nothing. I know I'm not alone, many creatives I’ve spoken with have encountered something similar.
I customized my own challenge on January 23rd, 2024 at the park to make a change in my life.
I wanted to become more consistent with my art and to take myself more seriously as an artist. To appreciate the process of making art, and become unafraid to share what I made regardless of if it looked “perfect” or not.
My Guidelines For The Challenge:
Make something each day for 365 days
The goal is progress, not perfection
Lean into what my creative side wants to make, no matter how silly or weird.
So far, 56 days have passed and I have learned so much.
During that time I’ve made art I love and art I cringe at. I’ve painted a climbing wall and am currently working on an art show with three energetic artists that is the largest public participatory exhibit in Northern California!
I’m starting this blog to show that if you make the time, creativity will follow.
