Client: Idea Fab Labs (Chico)

Opportunity: Write detailed and easy to use instruction manuals for the laser printer, 3D printer, and CNC machine. These must be simple enough for beginners to understand, but detailed enough to cover troubleshooting so the member can address machine issues on their own.

Duration: 8 months

Process: As I learned how to operate the 3 machines themselves over several months, I took detailed notes, referred to past instructional materials, and gained insight from interviews with members who had advanced knowledge of the machines. I then compiled my notes and diagrams into several drafts of information before reaching the concise final version.

Solution: The final 3 guides all include set up, clean up, and machine operation instructions along with a troubleshooting guide. Photographs of the various materials and steps are included for clarity. The guide is now available to members.
